Saddest picture I have ever seen as a baseball fan.
From The Purist Bleeds Pinstripes, a picture of the old Yankee stadium with all of the grass gone. It really is one of the most depressing pictures that I’ve ever seen. Really don’t need to say anything more, I’m sure all Yankee fans understand my pain.
New Stadium not TV friendly?
Peter Abraham had this quick post this week on LoHud. So not only are there lots of places where you can’t see all of the field at the game, but if you watch it from home, it’s not going to have the same views/quality as the old stadium. With all the money they spent, you think they’d really have done a better job on this. Seems like they really don’t care about the fans, just making more money.
King of Beers reigns in the Bronx.
Also from LoHud, the Yankees will be serving Budweiser products, as well as “beers from around the world” stands. Having had more than a few beers at the old Yankee Stadium, this was very important news to me. However, I’ll never forget the last beer that I had at the old stadium.
New Stadium Photo Update
From the Chuck Knoblog, photos from the new Yankee stadium. I have to admit, it really does look beautiful. I can’t wait to go to a game there. And it almost makes me a little less depressed about the old stadium being demolished.

It was a quiet week for the Yankees – no major signings or anything that was super newsworthy. However, there were definitely some blog posts worth checking out.
River Ave. Blues has a video of the Yankees staff moving their tophies that’s definitely a must watch. I would’ve paid for the honor of moving the World Series Trophies, although I would be pretty nervous about breaking them.
Along the same lines, Sliding Into Home has a photo update of the exterior of the new Yankee Stadium. I’ll admit that seeing photos like that make me a little giddy about seeing the new stadium in person.
I may be the only Yankees fan who didn’t already know, but I stumbled across Phil Hughes’ blog at Yardbarker this week. He gave away an autographed hat that he wore in high school. It’s definitely not every day that you see a player like him interacting with the public like that.

Check out this virtual tour of the New Yankee Stadium at MTV.com.
C.C. Sabathia throws a strike out and even Mark Teixeira hitting a homerun in left field. Plus, there’s a look at the new Monument Park and of some of the stands.
Never thought that one of the first looks into the New Yankee Stadium would come via a video game preivew on the MTV website. But then I also never thought MTV would stop playing music videos.
The game looks pretty hot too, almost makes me want to go out and get a PS3 and MLB09 when it comes out. If I actually had the time to play video games.
Have to give a shout to the LoHud Yankees blog for finding this one.
